Information:
The city of Gáldar was an old kingdom of the island and proof of this can be found in the Archaeological Park of la Cueva Pintada in the centre of the city.

In the city centre you will find various buildings of interest such as: old city hall, theatre, square called "Plaza grande", the museum of Antonio Padrón and also the historical place of Barranco Hondo de Abajo where you can find the most important troglodyte area in the island. There is also a small museum where you can see the most important aspect of the mount of Gran Canaria.

An important excursion that we recommend is a visit to the Pine Fields of Gáldar (amazing views, important geological and botanical interest).

In the town market you will find fresh produce from the farmers of the city.

The most important beaches in the area are: Dos Roques, Punta de Gáldar, la Caleta de Arriba, la Caleta de Abajo, la rada del Juncal, la playa de El Agujero, and many other natural swimming pools.
