Eat delicious Italian food and admire the Arab architecture of the Kasbah on your stay in Mazara del Vallo, south-western Sicily. As Mazara del Vallo is one of the most important fishing ports in Italy, you’ll find plenty of fresh fish to feast on in the restaurants here. There are plenty of interesting buildings to explore too, including the Norman Arc, which is the remains of the Norman Castle built in 1073, plus the San Nicolò Regale Church built in 1124. Head to the main square, Piazza della Repubblica and you can see the Seminary, built in 1710. One of the most popular attractions is the Dancing Satyr (Satiro Danzante) bronze statue, which was found in the Strait of Sicily by a fishing boat and is thought to have been sculpted by Greek artist Praxiteles.
