Casa Vagliendola is situated in the prestigious, scenic area above Amalfi, and was formally part of the historic Hotel Cappuccini. ¨The Vagliendola district, where our Casa is located, is one of the oldest and most characteristic in all of Amalfi. In this district stands the bell tower of the church of San Biagio, who is celebrated annually on February 3rd. From the villa's terrace, in a quiet and sunny position surrounded by greenery, you can enjoy a fantastic view of Amalfi's port and beaches, as well as the Gulf of Salerno. The terrace is accessible from one of the two bedrooms and from the large living room/kitchen. During the summer it is adorned with a dining table and chairs, relaxing lounge chairs, umbrellas, and a barbecue. It is the ideal place to spend many magic moments with your family or friends.
The house, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, is an excellent choice for two couples or four friends, as you can share the living room and terrace without sacrificing privacy.
In the spacious living room lies a fireplace, a glass dining table with chairs, two comfortable sofas where an extra pair of guests can sleep comfortably, and a kitchen. The kitchen is well-equipped with an oven, fridge, kettle, freezer, toaster, electric juicer, steel coffee thermos, and other useful kitchenware. The two bathrooms are adjacent to each other, with one consisting of a toilet, bidet, washbasin and bathtub, while the other swaps the bathtub for a stand-up shower.
Casa Vagliendola is accessible by walking up either a 100-step staircase from the main road, which is surrounded by pergolas of bougainvillea, or a 200-step stairway that is positioned right in the heart of Amalfi. The villa resides in a secluded locale, with a terrific view from every room of the bustling port, beaches, the old fashion Hotel Luna, the majestic Monastery of Santa Rosa, and the surrounding coastline. Because of its centralized location, we strongly suggest that you not rent a car. Once in town you might opt to rent a scooter if you wish to enjoy cruising around the coast.
The centre of Amalfi is the perfect strategic base for your excursions to Ravello, boat trips to Capri, Ischia, Positano or Naples, or bus trip to Pompeii and Herculaneum. Nearby is the Hotel Convento, a 13th century convent that was recently restored into a 5-star luxury hotel.
