Katastari is the largest village of Zakynthos located 17km north west of Zakynthos Town. It is a picturesque settlement surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. It is built amphitheatrically aside the main road offering a fantastic view to the sea. The village preserves its traditional character and natural beauty. Close to Katastari is the 17th century monastery of Agios Ioannis Prodromos, from this point you get superb views to Alykes. One of teh closest villages is Pigadakia, you can also reach on foot.
