Located in a comfortably secluded area above Lia Bay, in the southeast of Mykonos Island, Villa Gaia offers our guests a most extraordinary vacationing experience, an encounter with a Mykonos of yesteryears while in the comfort of modern day luxury. Set in a typically wild Mykonian landscape, this most unique among Mykonos rental villas consisting of a main house and garden guest house, and offers a splendid view of Draconisos (“Dragon Island”) Naxos, Paros, Ikaria and Donusa islands scattered across the sparkling bleu of the Aegean Sea, while its southeastern orientation provides our guests with brilliant daybreak as the sun god “Helios” riding in his golden chariot, rises into the sky.

Situated on a rocky hillside, a “diamond in the rough”, this Mykonos Grand Villa is built in the traditional Mykonian country style, incorporating natural rock formations into its architectural structure. Characteristic of the island’s landscape, such rock formations are said to be the petrified bodies of Giants slain by the legendary Hercules of ancient Greek mythology. Arched passages, corridors carved into rock, whitewashed stone walls, wood beamed ceilings, domes embedded with stained glass, old doors and flowing drapes of transparent white fabric, integrate and define spaces to create an intriguingly graceful and romantic ambiance.

At arrival to the gated estate a stone paved “kalderimi” walkway invites our guests to cross the threshold of the traditional garden entrance into its serine harmony and the aesthetic feast that awaits them to descend a few steps to an alluring pool terrace and the main villa entrance.

Upon entering Villa Gaia our guests are welcomed into a stone paved foyer vestibule and a spacious dining area with a fireplace and small, functional, open-plan preparation area. An adjacent pantry and a fully equipped and fully functional kitchen are accessed beyond a passage and exit to the main outdoor dining area. To the left of the entrance a small passage leads to a spacious, round, living room with carved stone walls, wood beam ceiling and amphitheatrically built in sofas. A large bay window provides a living canvas of the Aegean Sea and Draconisos while, with a presence of its very own, a impressive fireplace tempts guests to strike the match which will ignite the mind’s eye into conjuring up images, in anticipation of a story yet to be told. A cavern-like staircase leads to the upper level. At a mid level landing, a small guest bathroom and a separate shower are located in a “cavity” carved out of the rock. At the end of the staircase, across the upper level landing is the entrance to the master bedroom. Elegant and spacious, with a built-in double bed, a fireplace and a dome ceiling bathroom en-suite, it exits to a private lounging balcony overlooking the pool and garden while offering a stunning view of the majestic Aegean Sea. A second bedroom en-suite with a spacious built in double bed and a large bay window to enjoy the view, is located few steps up from the landing. From the landing one exits to a large veranda leading to a pergola shaded terrace with an inspiring view. Designed as an alternative outdoor dining area, it can comfortably accommodate ten (10) guests and may also be accessed up an external stair, next to the kitchen exit. Adjacent to the main villa, a guest studio en-suite, with a built in double bed and walk in closet, exits to a private terrace with breathtaking views. While an independent entrance provides privacy, a convenient passage, partially carved out of the rock, connects the guest studio to the living room of the main villa. A very charming, independent garden guest house, en-suite with a built in double bed and a fire place
