If any house can be called picturesque then it is this former farmhouse from 1785. Walking up to the front door, you get the feeling that you are stepping into a fairy tale. And the feeling will continue on the inside, with the stone walls, stone floors, wooden beams, the enormous open fireplace – everything brings out the ambience of bygone days, giving you the sense that time has stood still here. Until of course you use the kitchen or bathroom, which have been modernised. Outside, you have not only a sunny terrace but also a garden big enough to get lost in. And just where you think it ends, you discover another part of the garden, which borders a nature preserve. The accommodation is really suitable for 4 people, though a third bedroom can be used on request. This room is very low and difficult to access from one of the bedrooms. The location makes this an ideal base for hikes and bike rides. A cross-country ski trail from the Baraque de Fraiture winter sport station runs practically alongside the house. And towns such as Houffalize, Vielsalm, La Roche en Ardenne, Francorchamps and Bastogne are definitely worth a visit as well.
